Master Planning and Landscaping

Forster Park Primary School
Lewisham
SE6

External landscape improvement works were carried out to this run-down 1950's school, including re-surfacing the pedestrian tarmac approach and installing new bespoke gates and fencing.

The design brief was met by separating the vehicle and pedestrian routes, and by using bright colours and a fun, contemporary design to enliven the school approach. The green curving tarmac path guides pedestrians and children to the school entrance, while new bespoke fencing enlivens their route.

A new Environmental Area with a pond, log piles, boulders and planting is designed to encourage wildlife and acts as an ‘outdoor classroom' for the children.

A new glazed canopy and school lettering provide a much-needed face-lift, whilst improving recognition and pride in the School.

The bespoke entrance gates also improve the image of the School to the neighbourhood, and act as a welcoming sight to children and visitors.

The scheme is completed with new bins, benches, planters and cycle racks, which add colour and life to this previously neglected and grey space.
